Built in1832, Rosehill has been a private residence, doctors office, and tavern. The elegant structure stood watch as Union gun boats steamed south in support of General U.S. Grant at Ft. Donnelson, Tn during the American Civil War. In 1981, it was saved from demolition by the Lyon County Historical Society, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and converted into a museum.
Rose Hill features guided tours with rooms dedicated to the Land Between the Lakes, Eddyville and Kuttawa from its founding to the impoundment to create beautiful Lake Barkley
